Props
Due to the nature of our piece, we did not need many props as our surroundings provided much of the scenery we needed.
Spoon
To explain our homless actor getting kicked out her house, we linked her leaving to drug use, a common factor for homelessness in the UK, with 44% of people citing that as their reason. We used a spoon by burning sugar placed on it to create the effect of the preperation for IV drug use.
Alcohol Bottles
As well as drug use, another major cause of homelessness is drinking problems, which stack in at 63% of people saying they consumed 5 or more alcoholic drinks a day. Because of this we utilised a variety of cider, beer and liquer bottles.
Syringe
Adding to the effect of drug use, we used a household medical syringe used for the administration of liquid ibroprofuen to create the effect of the preperation for IV drug use.
Small ziplock bags
We used small ziplock bags similar to those used for drugs, for these we simply used the bags which come with trousers and a jacket with spare buttons in them. This helps heighten the effect of our actor being a drug user.
