Our music video made use of a number of close up shots which are often used in all nearly every music video genre. Close up shots are frequently found in music videos as they  show facial expressions of character as well as focusing on the movement in the performers lips.We felt that this style of shot should be included in our piece. We implemented this shot to highlight expression on the characters face and also to set the scene in some locations. The example on the right is one of the close up shots utilised within our piece.

Another convention is for shots of the performer to be in the same location from many different angles and distances. nearly every music video that I analysed in my research used this convention as it adds to the creativity and fluiditiy of the piece and creates a more dynamic  piece. This makes the music video more in interesting for the audience to consume.

A way in which we developed forms and conventions of existing media products was via the inclusion of dynamic camera movements. This was due to the fact that nearly every shot was filmed handheld. In postproduction we utilised warp stabalizer to  give some of them an extra smooth feel. The conventional method would be to include an even number of both handheld and stationary shots. We developed this by giving preference to the fixed shots with smooth stablised shots, which gave a similar effect but allowed for more versatile movement. This example of a stabilised shot is a great example of the effect it offers.

Another convention we also challenged and went against several was when we decdided to only use natural lighting for our piece, this goes unconventional lightin when looking at music videos as artificial studio light are used to center focus on the performer. This can be seen in the music video for Radioactve by Imagine Dragons.  Throughout the music video, artificial lighting is used to offer a spotlight on both the performance as well as the actor. By only employing natural lighting we were able to really highlight the breath taking, landscape scenery in our locations, especially when up on  Detling Hill.
